- In Missouri, DFS manages application for Medicaid, which provides coverage for doctor, hospital and approved medications. DFS also manages the Food Stamp program, energy assistance program, general relief and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families programs.
- In Kansas, Social and Rehabilitation Services manages similar services for Kansas residents.

- Provides Senior Meals Program, mobile meals, food pantry and clothes, in home care, personal care services, respite care, homemaker services, financial counseling and a variety of educational/social activities.

- Assists with mileage reimbursement, nutritional supplement, support programs, educational materials, ostomy supplies, wigs, dressings and transportation. Must have cancer diagnosis; physician approval required for some items.
Bureau of Special Health Care Needs: Cameron, MO (816) 632-2107
- Provides medical needs for persons 21-years and younger with certain health conditions. Must meet income and diagnoses guidelines.
- Also provides assistance for adults in locating, coordinating, and purchasing rehabilitation and psychological services for individuals who have survived a traumatic brain injury.

State agency that investigates all allegations of abuse/neglect of elderly.

Provides home services (homemaker, personal care, respite) for people over age 60 or disabled. Must meet eligibility requirements (financial need).

Offers information and referral services. Operates program to get appropriate services to current and potential Medicaid recipients considering nursing home placement.

- Provides psychiatrists, medication management, counseling and caseworkers for people with mental illness.
- Alcohol and drug assessment, detoxification; inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for alcohol/drug dependency.
- Family Guidance also provides some funds for prescriptions (average maximum assistance is $50).
- Has satellite offices in Maryville and Cameron, MO.

- Inpatient services provided without charge to patients who meet income/poverty guidelines. Does not cover outpatient medications or physician services.

- Provides supplementary funding for drugs, transfusions, testing, transportation, etc. to people with leukemia, lymphomas, multiple myelomas and Hodgkin's Disease.

- Assistance is provided for bone marrow transplant, donor harvest, supplies, respite care, home health care, pharmaceuticals, donor search, transportation, insurance premiums. Applications are available at the Heartland Cancer Center.

- Free health clinic for low-income people without insurance; fills the medical and dental care gaps that Medicare/Medicaid do not cover. May assist with medications in limited way.
- Crisis and diet counseling. AIDS coordinator.

- Counsels people 18-years and older concerning debt problems, buying on credit and money management. Especially helpful in directly intervening to arrange a payment plan for overdue bills such as medical, utilities, etc.

- For people 60-years and older or disabled. Provides homemaker/personal care services, as well as State programs (e.g. Missouri Care Options, elder abuse/neglect, information and referral).

- Provides free services to qualifying individuals in civil disputes, such as domestic violence, divorce, landlord-tenant, disability and other issues.
- Must meet income guidelines.
- A separate service, through the Missouri Bar Lawyer Referral Service, finds an attorney that will provide a 30 minute consultation for $25. Call 800-392-8777.

- Provides access to federal programs of social security retirement and Medicare for those at age 65. May apply for Medicare Part B as a purchased service.
- Provides access to federal disability benefits and supplemental security income (SSI).
- Provides benefits on federal programs and qualifications.
