The Integris Allura is the newest tool in vascular X-ray technology. The biplane imaging system provides three-dimensional imaging and high-speed applications. The primary disease process that can be diagnosed and treated is atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup, of arteries in the abdomen, pelvis, legs, neck and brain. Even more important, it provides treatment options for patients who may have once needed surgery.
Other treatment options provided by the Special Procedures Unit and the Integris Allura include:
- Opens arteries or veins blocked with blood clots.
- Blocks off bleeding arteries caused by trauma or tumors.
- Stops esophageal bleeding caused by enlarged veins.
- Stops bleeding caused by uterine fibroids.
- Opens blocked ducts in the liver and ureters.
- Relieves back pain caused by osteoporotic fractures or cancer.
