Patients at Heartland Regional Medical Center (HRMC) now have access to a powerful new weapon in the fight against cancer. HRMC is the first in Northwest Missouri and the Kansas City region to use PET/CT technology.
The new Discovery ST scanner combines functional information from PET with anatomic information from CT. This means Discovery ST helps your doctor better understand the extent and exact location of your disease and develop accurate treatment plans.

PET/CT may be utilized in: - Oncology to determine the location and extent of tumor growth
- Neurology to aid in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, stroke, brain tumors and seizures
- Cardiology to determine the viability of the heart
A single exam, more information, streamlined effective care. Ask your doctor if PET/CT is right for you.
