In 1993, our service area was experiencing a shortage of primary care physicians. As a result, Heartland Health actively recruited physicians to serve our community. By 1996, a full primary care presence was re-established.
Soon afterwards, these 27 primary care physicians saw the need for a full and diverse sub-specialty group of physicians to complement their patients' care - focusing on specialties important to our area such as cardiovascular surgery and neurosurgery. In 2003, this group of dedicated physicians came together to become known as Heartland Clinic.
Today, Heartland Clinic consists of more than 100 physicians, 25 mid-level providers and 450 staff members - all working together to provide the best care and services to our community and region.
